Community Guidelines

Age Restriction
For child safety reasons, we don’t allow children under the age of 13 to join @Quid. If you’re under 13, please don’t use the @Quid Website. There are many other sites on the Internet that are more appropriate for you. Your parents can help you find them.

@Quid, the Community
When you create a Member Account on the @Quid Website you become part of the @Quid Community. As a Member, you can benefit from all the great features we’ve built into the site for you. In return, we insist that you respect the @Quid Community.

We're not asking you to show the kind of respect that clergymen, school teachers and heads of state command. We just expect you not to abuse the site; because every Community feature on @Quid involves a certain level of trust, and we count on you to be responsible!

We Review Content Flagged As Inappropriate
The Community depends on you and on every other Member to help keep @Quid a safe, fun, and positive place for everyone. If you find content on @Quid that violates our Terms of Use or these Community Guidelines, please flag it so we can review it!

Anyone can report abuse by flagging any inappropriate content.
When a video, photo, text, comment, message or bulletin, etc. gets flagged as inappropriate, we review it to determine whether it violates our Terms of Use. Flagged content is not automatically taken down by the system. If we take your content off after reviewing it, you can assume that we removed it with resolve, and you should take our warning notification seriously. Take a moment to read our Terms of Use and try to see things from our point of view.

Don't Cross the Line
Members who have violated the Community Guidelines risk a review and, in extreme cases, face termination of their @Quid account. The following are some common-sense rules that will help you stay clear of any such trouble:

Venting, Ranting, Flaming or Hate Messages: @Quid isn't a platform to vent personal frustrations or rant about issues. We are a Community of people with diverse beliefs, opinions, and backgrounds… all bound together by a shared passion for Antiques, Vintage Items, Art Objects and/or Collectables. So please be respectful and keep hateful and incendiary comments off @Quid. You are free to express your opinion. However, we ask you to stay polite and use decent language. We will not tolerate any threats, harassment, attacks or hate messages. This includes anything that is demeaning in terms of race, ethnic origins, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation. If you can’t respect the above, you can’t stay a Member of the @Quid Community.

Obscenity and Malice: Sexually explicit and vulgar language or images are not welcome on @Quid; nor are belligerence, insults, slurs and otherwise objectionable content. In short, if you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, don’t post it on @Quid either.

Spam: While it's OK to accompany good, on-topic content with a link to your website, or blog, it is not OK to post links unrelated to the topic, or clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and/or financial gain.

Breaking the Law: Don't post anything that violates the laws of your country, state, province, or city. Don't attempt to trick people into sharing their personal information, steal anything (including copyright or trademark material), or break into places you shouldn't be. Don't threaten, harass, impersonate, or hurt others; and don't invade other people's privacy. Also, be advised that – when laws are broken – we will
cooperate with law enforcement. Please read our Safety Tips and stay safe on @Quid.

Copyright Infringement:
Respect copyright. Only upload content that you created yourself, or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload content you didn't make, or upload content that someone else owns the copyright to - such as music or videos/images made by others - unless you have obtained their written authorization. For full information read our Copyright Notices.

Malicious Behavior: Don't post links to sites that contain viruses or malicious programs or that interfere with the @Quid website operation.

Feedback Abuse: The Community counts on you to rate the content uploaded by other Members, make comments and flag abuse. But using these Website features to target others is not allowed.

Fraud: Be responsible and don’t misrepresent yourself. Don’t claim credentials or expertise you don’t have. Don’t give advice in a way that might cause someone harm. Don’t incite or advocate violence or harmful practices.

Prohibited or Restricted Items: For legal reasons and/or in respect of the greater public interest, certain categories of Antiques, Vintage Items and Collectables are restricted or entirely prohibited from the @Quid Website. For full information, consult our Prohibited and Restricted Items Policy.

Otherwise Inappropriate: Don't post things that are not specifically related to Antiques, Vintage Items or Collectables; and don't post the same content repeatedly. @Quid is not a shock site. Don't post gross-out videos/images of accidents, dead bodies, drug abuse, bomb making, graphic or gratuitous violence or any content where animals or humans are humiliated, attacked, hurt, or killed.

Also, we count on you to always use appropriate language

On the Other Hand, Please Do…
Get Involved:
@Quid is your Community! The content posted by each and every Member is what makes the @Quid Website what it is. So, jump right in; request free Appraisals; make Appraisals; publish Qunol; broadcast News; upload photos and videos of your Antiques, Vintage Items and Collectables; publish How-To Guides, Ask/Answer questions; Blog, create/join special interest groups; post Bulletins; post to forums; make friends; and generally use all the great features on the site.

Let People Know What You Think: Your feedback is a valuable feature of the site. Give it with respect, share stories as well as your expert knowledge, and make friends. Please leave comments, rate entries and generally improve the content of the site wherever you want to… and can. You may not agree with everything you find on the Website. Therefore you have multiple opportunities to present your point of view, to complete other people’s opinions and to share information. However, if you discover content that clearly violates some of our Community Guidelines and/or Terms of Use, please Flag it as inappropriate. We're committed to doing our best to prevent abuse on @Quid; and, with your help, we can make a difference.

Stay On Topic: Please only post video, audio, photos and text about items that are Antique, Vintage Item, Art Object related or generally considered to be Collectable. Any content that is not about Antiques, Vintage Items Art Objects or Collectables will be removed.

Share your Expertise and Knowledge:
Chances are other Members can benefit from your expertise, knowledge, opinions or personal experience. Sharing these is one of many ways you can make a positive contribution to the Community.

Be Courteous: Remember, we're a diverse Community of people with diverse opinions. Everyone wants to be treated with respect, and showing respect to others makes the Community better for all Members.

Cite your Sources:
We encourage Members to refer to outside resources for their postings. Just be sure to cite your sources and give credit where credit is due.

Be Clear: Keep your postings succinct, but descriptive enough to help other Members understand what you have to say. For content in text form, use correct spelling and grammar. This will help everyone to understand you. In return, you'll also get a better response to your posts.

Tag and Categorize Accurately: Placing your content into the correct category, and tagging it with appropriately descriptive keywords, helps make sure that your posting will be seen by those Members you’re aiming to reach.

In Conclusion…
Please note that we reserve the right to revise these Community Guidelines at any time and without notice.

We hope you’ll enjoy participating in the @Quid Community, and that you return to the Website regularly. Also, if there’s anything you think we need to do better… or just differently, please let us know by communicating your observations or suggestions to
